A traditional summer festival featuring samurai on horseback is being held in the Soma region of Fukushima Prefecture in Japan.
The three-day event began on Saturday with men in samurai armour reenacting a ceremony held before battle in ancient times at local shrines.
At one shrine in Soma City, around 80 men wearing suits of armour gathered to take part in the ceremony.
