Sunderland appoint Moyes as new manager

Former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes has been appointed manager of Sunderland.

At the helm of the Black Cats the 53-year-old Scot replaces Sam Allardyce, who given the job of England manager on Friday.

Moyes was voted Manager of the Year three times during an 11-year spell at Everton.

His time at Old Trafford was less glittering and he was sacked after just ten months at the helm.

He has been out of work since being dismissed by Real Sociedad in November after just a year in charge.

Moyes becomes Sunderland’s fourth fourth manager in less than three years.
