Spain’s national coach Vicente del Bosque is retiring from football management, following the defending champions’ elimination from Euro 2016 by Italy.

The 65-year-old says he made up his mind before the tournament.

Spain won their first two group games but then lost to Croatia before going out to the Italians.

Del Bosque led the country to its first World Cup in 2010 and clinched the second successive European Championship two years later.
