Euronews is in the Italian city of Milan ahead of today’s (May 28) Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to talk to some of the fans.

One couple told Euronews they’ve been together for decades: they each have their own team. He supports Atletico, she supports Real. It’s a big occasion for them, given their household rivalry.

Four friends explained that they all used to live in Madrid, then one of them went to work to Panama.

“We decided to come together to see the final. He came by plane from Panama yesterday, and today we took a plane from Madrid to Milan. It was a long trip. We came to have fun and see [Atletico] win the cup. It is inevitable.

Euronews sports correspondent Paula Vilaplana reported: “Two years after a painful victory in Lisbon Real Madrid will meet Atletico Madrid once again and fight for this cup. The Whites (Real) could win their eleventh trophy, and Colchoneros (Atletico) their first one. The cup is looking for an home.”
