With reigning MVP Steph Curry out of action due to an ankle injury, the record-breaking Golden State Warriors showed off their strength in depth on Monday night.

The defending champions beat the Houston Rockets in Oakland to take a two nil lead in their best-of-seven playoff.

After a 26-point victory in game one – Golden state were pushed a little harder this time.

But Klay Thompson was in imperious form and top scored for the Warriors with 34 points.

Andre Iguodala, last year’s Finals MVP, added 18 points with four 3-pointers while Shaun Livingstone chipped in with 16 points as the Warriors enjoyed a 115-106 victory.

Thursday’s game three takes place in Houston.
