Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick to help fire Real Madrid past Wolfsburg and into the semi-finals of the Champions League for a sixth consecutive season.

The Portuguese international tapped home his first after 16 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He magnificently headed home his second a minute later while his third came from a delightful free-kick with 13 minutes of the game left.

Real advance 3-2 aggregate winners.

Joining Zinedine Zidane’s Real in the last four is Manchester City who beat Paris Saint Germain to reach this stage of the competition for the first time in the club’s history.

Kevin de Bruyne scored the only goal of the game in the 75th minute and he did it in style with a long range curling effort.

After the first leg finished 2-2 Manuel Pellegrini’s move through to the semis – like Real Madrid – 3-2 on aggregate.
