England’s ICC World Twenty20 Group One campaign got off to a poor start after losing to the West Indies in Mumbai this week.
Chris Gayle proved to be England’s tormentor.
England set a target of 182 – but Gayle was in devastating form at the crease and he almost single handedly helped the Windies to a six-wicket victory.
Gayle struck 11 sixes on his way to scoring 100 from just 47 deliveries – it was the fastest century in World Twenty20 cricket and he became only the second batsman to notch up two career centuries in the format.
He helped take his side to the required 183 for the win with 11 balls to spare.
