DeMarcus Cousins starred for the Kings in victory while Will Barton was one of eight players to score in double figures for Denver in defeat.
All-Star centre Cousins scored eight of the final 13 points for the Kings who blew a 17-point lead in the second half before a stirring comeback to take the win.
Cousins went on to score 39 points, his 53rd career game with at least 30 points on the board.
Rudy Gay chipped in with 16 points and 10 rebounds as Sacremento won through 114-110 to hand Denver their fourth defeat in five games.
The Kings next Host San Antonio while the Nuggets travel to the LA Clippers.
