The number 30 shirt of arguably ice hockey’s most celebrated goaltenders Martin Brodeur was retired on Tuesday evening.

Prior to the New Jersey Devils’ game with the Edmonton Oilers, Brodeur’s shirt was hoisted up into the rafters to join a host of other shirts belonging to the good and great of the Devils’ history.

In his glittering 21-season tenure with the New Jersey Devils, he won three Stanley Cups and five Eastern Conference titles in 17 post-season campaigns.

The 43-year old also won two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada in the 2002 and 2010.
