An image of paralympic running champion Oscar Pistorius, who was found guilty of shooting dead his girlfriend in 2013, appears above the tagline “with the love of your life.” Brazilian Internet site UOL reported the gaffe. The Paralympic Committee had published the advert on Twitter, but quickly deleted it once they realised the implications of what they’d done. Donald Pugh, 45, posted the photo after seeing the ones the Lima, Ohio, police department had published on their Facebook page. “Here is a better photo that one is terrible,” he wrote in accompaniment. Florida’s Escambia County Sheriff’s Office posted a new shot of Pugh once he’d been arrested. In this one, he was broadly smiling. “How’s this photo Donald Pugh?” they asked. “Maybe that selfie helped people identify you better?” He is a person of interest in a number of cases including misdemeanor drunk driving, arson and vandalism, according to Lima police. Some families said they didn’t appreciate this particular style of education. Sundai, the company owning most of the country’s private schools, took the decision, but not until seven of the 28,000 copies available had been sold. The manual aims to assist students with university entry exams. It contains 710 typical sentences students must learn by heart.
