The former president of El Salvador’s football federation Reynaldo Vasquez has been arrested by police in relation to the on-going FIFA corruption scandal.
Vasquez is wanted by US authorities for allegedly accepting bribes from a marketing firm in exchange for broadcast rights to international matches involving the El Salvador.
The Central American country’s supreme court approved his extradition to the US on Friday.
At that time his whereabouts were unknown and the court issued an arrest warrant.
Vasquez was caught by police just south of the capital San Salvador.
