As feared, the first economic indicators after the Paris terror attacks suggest a slowdown in activity especially in France’s service sector.

The hotel and restaurant industry has reported a dent in trade according to a “flash” measure of a Markit PMI report which saw its headline reading dip. The full result will be updated in December.

The French private sector has kept on expanding for the 10th straight month, thanks to a faster increase in manufacturing.

Analysts say that encouragingly, atrocities such as the barbaric violence that killed 130 people in the French capital tend not to have a long-term impact.
