Police fired teargas to calm protesters who took to the streets after Friday prayers in Kashmir and threw stones at security personnel.

The clashes erupted when groups of youths gathered on the main road outside the city of Jamia Masjid.

They are angry about the killing of an engineering student during a protest last Saturday. There were intense clashes but no was hurt.
