Facebook shares rose by around five percent after the company’s quarterly results beat estimates.
The social media network now has 1.1 billion users a day, with over 1.5 billion monthly active users – the vast majority using the service on mobile devices.
A huge increase in mobile advertising boosted overall ad revenue by 45 percent.
Mobile commercials are growing fast generally, driven by Facebook’s growth according to some analysts.
Total revenue jumped to $4.5 billion dollars (4.13 billion euros) in the third quarter, up from $3.2 billion (2.94 billion euros) a year earlier.
