Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo continued his remarkable scoring run as Real Madrid downed Malmo 2-0 in the Champions League in Sweden on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old opened the scoring in the 29th minute before adding another in injury time to help Los Merengues join Paris Saint Germain at the top of group A.

In group B, Manchester United came from behind to beat Wolfsburg 2-1 at Old Trafford. The visitors broke the deadlock in the 4th minute thanks to Daniel Caligiuri but it wasn’t to be as Juan Mata and Chris Smalling both struck to secure the win.

This result sees Louis Van Gaal’s men join their rivals on 3 points ahead of their next game on October 21.

Elsewhere, Atletico Madrid were stunned by Benfica at the Vicente Calderon. Angel Correa put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute but Nicolas Gaitan produced a man of the match performance to seal the win.

The Argentina winger struck and set up Goncalo Guedes to help his side extend their lead at the top of the table.

In group D, Juventus produced a solid display to outclass Sevilla 2-0 in Italy. Former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata and Simone Zaza both scored to earn their side all three points while Manchester City bounced back from their opening loss with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
