Refugees don’t have the benefit of many possessions, especially when they have travelled 300 miles on foot. So they carry only the things they value the most.

For Aslan, 17, that meant his pet dog. Defying his companions who said he would never be able to bring the puppy the whole way from Syria to Greece.
