Italy’s prime minister has slammed trade unions after Rome’s Colosseum remained closed until 11.30 on Friday morning so workers to attend a meeting with their union.

Employees at the site are locked in a dispute with Italy’s Culture Ministry over issues including staff shortages and payment delays.
