Thousands of protesters have rallied in Tokyo against government moves to enact legislation that would allow Japanese troops to fight abroad for the first time since the Second World War. Organisers said demonstrators numbered 45,000. Their message to the government was ‘no war’ and ‘scrap war legislation’.
