The aircraft had been bound for London Gatwick.

A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said initial reports indicated a fire in the left hand side engine.

The two people who were medically treated suffered only minor injuries.

McCarran International said the fire had been put out and that flights were continuing from its three other runways.
