Sentsov was arrested shortly after the Crimean peninsula was annexed by Russia in March 2014 charges of terrorism.

His co-accused, Alexandre Koltchenko, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Both were appearing for “terrorism”, “organization of a terrorist group” and “arms trafficking” in a case they consider policy.
