Ieng Thirith, the sister-in-law of Cambodian dictator Pol Pot, has died, nearly five years after being indicted for genocide and crimes against humanity.

The case against the 83-year-old, a minister during Pol Pot’s 1975-‘79 ‘killing fields’ regime, was suspended after she was found unfit to stand trial because of dementia.
