In central Portugal up to 400 firefighters are still battling a blaze in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park.
The flames have already destroyed around 800 hectares, 300 of which are in the protected area.
The park is regarded as one of the ecological jewels of Portugal
Constant wind and difficult terrain have complicated the efforts of the firefighters in preventing the fire’s advance.
