The Argentina International has joined the French champions on a four-year contract after a disappointing single season at Old Trafford.

PSG have won all there is to win on the domestic scene and Di Maria wants to help the club improve their fortunes in Europe.

At his unveiling the 27-year-old said: “Every time I wear a new shirt, I try to give everything, and this is what I will do, I’ll bring my contribution to the team. They won everything (domestic) this year. I saw it, I saw until the last game. So my (job) is to bring the maximum and bring a little bit more and try to help them progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League – something that Paris haven-t been able to achieve.”

PSG are Champions League regulars but for the past three seasons have fallen at the quarter-final stage.

The Di Maria deal cost the capital club 63 million euros – 12 million euros less than United paid Real Madrid only 12 months ago.

He’s the second most expensive signing in French football history and it shows the star-studded club’s continued desire to challenge at the highest level of the game.
