Georgia’s Robinzon Beglarishvili thrilled the partizan crowd on Wednesday when he won the – 60kg judo title at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi – he beat Manuel Lombardo from Italy in the final.

Russia claimed gold in the girl’s Artistic Gymnastics team discipline.

Elena Eremina, Anastasiia Iliankova and Daria Skrypnik scored a total of 112.9 points over the four disciplines to hold off Belgium and Germany.

Meanwhile at the Tbilisi new Athletics Stadium Ukrainian Dmytro Nikitin celebrated gold in the boys high jump.

He cleared 2.12 metres to win the title ahead of Ryan Walsh of Ireland while bronze went to Greek Antonios Merlos.

The girl’s triple jump was won by Romania’s Georgiana Iuliana Anitei with 13 meters and 50 centimeters.

Ukraine’s Sonia Da Konseisao Kussekala came second and Slovenia’s Eva Pepelnak third.

At Tbilisi’s outdoor pool Janja Jamsek won gold in girl’s 200m backstroke.

The Slovenian touched home first to beat Moldova’s Tatiana Salcutan while Britain’s Sophie Leigh Hobbah rounded off the podium with bronze.
