Real Madrid showed off their latest acquisition to the media on Thursday.
Brazilian fullback Danilo has signed a whopping six-year deal with the ten-times European champions worth 31.5 million euros.
The deal makes him the most expensive defender ever to be signed by the Spanish giants.
At his first Real Madrid press conference Danilo – whose full name is Danilo Luiz da Silva – said: “My objective at Real Madrid is to adapt as quickly as possible to the club’s style of playing. This club demands a lot. I need to adapt to the city quickly and my daily routine. All that will help me play well.”
Later in the day he was presented to the supporters that had gathered inside the Santiago Bernabeu to welcome the new arrival.
Danilo joins from Portuguese topflight side Porto and at Real Madrid he’ll be competing with Dani Carvajal for a place in the starting line-up under new manager Rafa Benitez.
