Around 35,000 New Dehli residents had their mats at the ready to take part in International Yoga Day celebrations on Saturday.

India has event set up an ministry of yoga because of the importance of its largest cultural export.

Yogathon’s are also taking place all over the world including this one in Taiwan’s capital featuring 2,000 practitioners.

Similar events were scheduled to take place across the world throughout the day, from Asia to the Middle East, and Europe to the Americas.
