Astana rider 37-year-old Paolo Tiralongo stormed to an impressive victory in stage 9 of the Giro d’Italia to claim his third career stage win at the Italian grand tour.
Tiralongo overhauled fellow escapee the Dutchman Tom Jelte Slagter at the end of the tough 215km ride from Benevento to San Giorgio del Sanno.
