Contador under attack but still in pink at the Giro d'Italia

The champagne flowed for the young Basque rider Benat Intxausti after stage 8 of the Giro d’Italia the first real big mountain stage of the grand tour.
Race leader Alberto Contador had another really difficult day as he suffered a number of attacks as the big guns attempted to exploit any weakness as a result of his dislocated shoulder.
However, Contador resisted showing his rivals what a tough bike rider he remains.
Back to Intxausti he got into the breakaway and rode his race until he found himself alone and went on the win the stage by a clear 20 seconds from Spain’s Mikel Landa Meana.
Contador still in the pink four seconds up on Fabio Aru.
