Former National Football League star Aaron Hernandez has been handed a life sentence. A jury found him guilty of murdering a friend of his girlfriend’s sister in June 2013.

Hernandez was a rising star of the New England Patriots with a 41 million dollar contract. He collapsed into his chair when the verdict was read out in court. He faces a second murder trial later this year.
