Two unnamed Americans are facing fines for allegedly scratching their initials into the walls of the historic Colosseum.
Two American tourists could face a hefty fine after allegedly being caught scratching initials into the walls of Rome’s historic Colosseum.
The women, aged 21 and 25, are believed to have scratched the letters ‘J’ and ‘N’ into an interior wall, before taking a ‘selfie’ photograph.
They would not be the first people to have defaced the popular tourist attraction. In 2014, a Russian tourist was fined 20,000 euros for a similar offence.
