Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed a two-match ban after being sent off for kicking out at Cordoba defender Edimar in La Liga on Saturday.

The Real Madrid star, who only recently won the World Player of the Year award will miss league games against Real Sociedad and Sevilla.

He will however be available for the derby against champions Atletico Madrid on February 7.

It was Ronaldo’s ninth career red card.
