European Champions Real Madrid continue their January shopping spree by signing midfielder Lucas Silva from Brazilian club Cruzeiro.
Silva has put pen to paper on contract that will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2020 – a deal worth a reported 13 million euros.
At his presentation the Brazil under-21 star said: “For me it is a great pleasure to play with amazing players as Real Madrid players are, specially in midfield, like Toni Kroos. I am really proud of playing with him as I have been his fan for a long time.’‘
Silva was presented to the club’s fans on Monday.
He is the second player to have signed on with Real Madrid during the winter transfer window.
Last week the La Liga leaders paid three million euros for 16-year-old Norwegian starlet Martin Odegaard, who will begin his Real career in the reserve team.
