Joan Barreda claimed his third stage win of this year’s Dakar Rally after a succesful ride in stage ten – a 371 kilometre special between Calama in Chile and Salta in Argentina.
The Honda rider was one minute and 39 seconds ahead of fellow Spaniard and KTM rider Marc Coma who stretched his overall lead to seven minutes and 35 seconds over Honda’s Paulo Gonçalves who was fifth on the day.
Nasser Al-Attiyah produced another stellar performance to clinch his fourth stage victory this edition.
The Qatari Mini driver now holds a commanding 28 minute and 22 second overall lead over South African Giniel de Villiers.
