Hundreds of people lined the streets of Mexico City for the annual “Alebrijes” parade, where artisans showcase colourful sculptures of surreal creatures traditionally made of wood or paper. Celebrating its eighth edition, the parade showed the work of Mexican artisans from across the country who spend weeks, sometimes months, creating their alebrijes. Some of the sculptures can measure up to 7 metres in height and weight up to 300 kilograms.
