Slovenia’s Olympic champion Tina Maze fought off jetlag to win a World Cup giant slalom and end a six-race streak of victories by Austria’s women’s team.
"I'm very surprised to ski such a run...yesterday I was still like walking around in my sleep"
Maze completed the course with a combined time of two minutes and 23.84 seconds.
Home favourite Sara Hector was second. But the Swede may have been satisfied after making a big mistake in the second leg.
Austria’s Eva-Maria Brem led after the first run but settled for third, 0.28 seconds back.
