Syrian state television said on Sunday that Israeli jets had bombed areas near Damascus international airport and in the town of Dimas near the border with Lebanon.

It said there were no casualties. Residents in Damascus said they heard loud explosions. Lebanon’s Hezbollah-run al-Manar television also said Israeli jets bombed areas near Dimas airport.

An Israeli army spokesman said he would “not relate to the foreign reports”.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which tracks the conflict, said that 10 explosions were heard near Dimas.
