A police spokeswomen said that a 16-year-old Palestinian boy stabbed two people believed to be Israelis before being shot by an off-duty security guar

Two Israeli shoppers have been stabbed in a Jerusalem supermarket, according to police.

The attack occurred at the Rami Levi supermarket in the Mishor Adumim district of East Jerusalem.

A police spokeswomen said that a 16-year-old Palestinian boy stabbed two people believed to be Israelis before being shot and injured by an off-duty security guard.

“We saw two badly injured men,” explained Avi Levmberg, one of the paramedics on the scene.

“They got wounded in the upper lower body, from probably, from a knife. The terrorist was neutralised and he got shot in the leg,” added Levmberg.

Both of the victims were hospitalised with minor injuries. The condition of the assailant was not known.

It is the latest in a spate of violence in and around East Jerusalem. Eleven Israelis have died in Palestinian attacks, while twelve Palestinians have been killed, several of whom were the assailants.
