Four people were targeted in two seperate knife attacks in the Austrian capital.
An asylum seeker from Afghanistan has admitted two knife attacks in Vienna that have left a pensioner fighting for his life and three other people injured, say police.
The first saw a couple and their teenage daughter targeted as they were leaving a restuarant in the Austrian capital on Wednesday evening.
The father, 67, is in a critical condition in hospital, report AFP.
The second attack, which happened a few hundred metres away from the first, left another Afghan, 20, injured.
Police say the suspect had told them he carried out the attack not for political reasons but because he was in an "aggressive mood and unhappy with his life".
