An emotional protest against terrorism took place yesterday (August 25) in the Spanish town of Rubi, near Barcelona.

In attendance were the parents of three-year-old Xavi Martínez, who lost his life in the terrorist attack on Las Ramblas avenue in central Barcelona last week.

Xavi’s father Javier shared a tender moment with the local imam, Dris Salym, who started crying as the pair hugged.

The three-year-old was walking down Las Ramblas with other members of his family when a van ploughed into pedestrians killing him and 12 others.
