Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso held off MotoGP points leader Marc Marquez of Spain to claim his third victory of the season at the Austrian Grand Prix at Spielberg.

The Italian took the lead with seven laps to the finish line and fought a game of cat-and-mouse with Marquez with both of them running wide on occasion and allowing the other through.

Marquez, who won the last two races, made a late challenge on the Italian on the final corner and nearly took him off the track.

Dovizioso slowed, avoided the Spaniard, and gave a dismissive wave of his hand as he powered to the finish line and the win.

World champion Marquez leads the overall standings with 174 points, 16 ahead of second-placed Dovizioso.
