World War II bomb forces Bialystock evacuation

The discovery of a second world bomb has prompted a partial evacuation of the city of Bialystock, in Poland.

The 500kg bomb was discovered on a construction site and the military said there was a possibility it could explode during removal

A spokesperson for the local authority said about 10,000 people were registered as residents of the affected area.

Bombs such as these are often found at construction sites in Poland, Particulary in the capital, where the city was reduced to rubble by Germany near the end of the war
