Real Madrid reach record seventh consecutive Champions semi-finals

Real Madrid powered through to a record seventh consecutive Champions semi-final beating Bayern Munich four two.

Ronaldo scored his hundredth goal in the Champions League and made it a hat-trick by the end of the match which was also his forty first hat-trick for Real.

But the game was marred by some dodgy refereeing: Bayern’s Viktor Real was sent off and two of Ronaldo’s goals in extra time were clearly off-side.

And Leicester City’s hope and dreams for the Champions League were brought back down to earth after they were held to a one all draw by Atletico Madrid in their home stadium.

Atletico’s Saul Niguez scored twenty six minutes in with a header.

Leicester’s Jamie Vardy managed an equaliser in the second half but it was not enough to stop Atletico advancing into the semis with a two one aggregate win.
