At least 41 people including six attackers have died in an attack claimed by ISIL in the village of Sousian, near al-Bab in northern Syria.
A car bomb was used to tear apart a Free Syrian Army security checkpoint just hours after the Turkish-backed rebels claimed victory in driving the extremists out of al-Bab and two satellite towns after weeks of fighting. They were ISIL’s last big possessions in northwest Syria.

Many of the injured have been taken north of the nearby Turkish border for treatment, while fighting to clear up isolated ISIL cells in al-Bab and its outskirts continues, along with the demining of booby-trapped structures and roads.
