The 27-year-old’s current club Zenit St Petersburg confirmed on their website this week that they and newly promoted Tianjin Quanjian had agreed a deal for the midfielder.
Reports suggest the player set to sign a five year contract that will earn him around 18 million euros a year at his new Chinese club which is managed by former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro.
Witsel, who was heavily linked with a move to Juventus, has won 80 caps for Belgium.
Other recent arrivals in China’s topflight include Carlos Tevez, Oscar, Graziano Pelle, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Jackson Martinez.
