Africanews launched its online platform on January 4, 2016 and already, the pan-African media has won two awards.
The first recognition was in September when the company received the 2016 New Media Award at the 18th edition of the Grand Prix Media awards run by the French magazine, CB News.

The Grand Prix Media Award is a yearly award scheme that rewards major players in the communication industry.
A month after the maiden accolade, Africanews picked its second award: Best New Channel Launch Award at Digital TV’s Content Innovation Awards 2016 held in Cannes, France.
The award was in recognition of the media channel’s excellence in news delivery since it launched last year.
Africanews.com offers diversity in information including News, Business, Sport, Culture, Science and Technology stories in both English and French with a fully responsive interface for mobile, tablet and desktop computers.
There is also the No Comment section which gives a vivid and objective video account of major events on the continent for the readers’ judgement.
The content of the website is also shared on other social media platforms of Africanews including Facebook and Twitter.
Africanews has a team of over 50 media professionals from 15 different nationalities.
Africanews television which broadcasts in over 30 countries in sub-Saharan Africa will celebrate its first anniversary on April 20, 2017.
