England’s Gary Hunt celebrated a record sixth Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series title in seven years on Sunday courtesy of a third place finish at the penultimate event of the season in Japan.
The result left Hunt with 1190 points – 290 points clear of Mexican Jonathan Paredes with one stop left – the season finale in the United Arab Emirates later this month.
With a superb series of dives in the natural setting of Shirahama, Sergio Guzman from Mexico City celebrated his first ever victory while American Steven LoBue finished runner-up for his second podium of the season.
