“I’ve been A season ticket holder for 52 years. I am 73 and I have never seen anything like it,” said one fan. “I have been through all the Cup finals, play-offs, and everything, and this is the best night of my life, at my age.”
Another was almost overwhelmed:
“You never dream of this even happening. Like you say, I had to sort of stand back and grab my breath sort of thing. I can’t even put it into words.”
Leicester joy! The greatest upset in sporting history is complete as 5,000-1 outsiders win Premier League https://t.co/9owY6UHa6v— The Independent (@Independent) May 2, 2016
There’s been an outpouring of celebrations in the provincial English city. It is a remarkable result for a club which started the season as 5000 -1 outsiders having ended last season narrowly avoiding relegation, but some how they’ve taken on club giants with all their money and experience and won.
