Leicester City write their own fairytale

It was screams and cheers among team members of Leicester City as their dreams came true of becoming Premier League winners

Their supporters were just as vocal in bars and pubs as they watched on television the only remaining challengers to their club’s success, Tottenham Hotspur draw 2 – 2 in a match at Chelsea.

“I’ve been A season ticket holder for 52 years. I am 73 and I have never seen anything like it,” said one fan. “I have been through all the Cup finals, play-offs, and everything, and this is the best night of my life, at my age.”

Another was almost overwhelmed:

“You never dream of this even happening. Like you say, I had to sort of stand back and grab my breath sort of thing. I can’t even put it into words.”

There’s been an outpouring of celebrations in the provincial English city. It is a remarkable result for a club which started the season as 5000 -1 outsiders having ended last season narrowly avoiding relegation, but some how they’ve taken on club giants with all their money and experience and won.
