Austrian ski jumper Michael Hayboeck produced a stunning performance to secure his first World Cup victory for more than a year as he edged out his opponents in Lahti Finland.

The 24-year-old looked in great shape and jumped 128 m before clearing 129 m to end the day with a total of 265.4 points.

Daniel Andre Tande had to settle for second place after leaping 126.5 m and 127 m, enough to edge out third-placed Severin Freund of Germany.

Overall World Cup leader Peter Prevc of Slovenia found himself leading at the halfway stage but could only manage 122.6 points with his second effort as he eventually finished fifth.
