Hundreds of rescuers are working on freeing workers trapped in a collapsed mine in China’s Shandong province.
Of the 29 miners working at the time of the incident, 11 have so far been lifted to the surface, state TV reports. One of those trapped is reportedly dead, while 17 are believed to have survived.
Two days after the collapse, the mine’s owner killed himself by jumping into a mine well.
