French President Francois Hollande has praised the work of police and customs officers who have seized more than seven tonnes of cannabis resin from three vans parked in an upmarket suburb of Paris.
The haul was shown to the media at customs offices on the outskirts of Paris. It is the biggest seizure of drugs in France for two years.
Police sources say the consignment was transported from Morocco via Spain before being left in the city’s affluent 16th arrondissement.
